A 1704 Medal Commemorating the Capture of Gibraltar and Action off Malaga
Copper, obverse with the left-facing bust of Queen Anne, surrounded by the inscription "ANNA. D:G: MAG: BRI: FRA: ET. HIB. REG:" and engraver marked "I.C.", reverse illustrating Britannia at the left, with Neptune bearing a trident, standing upon a carriage of led by two horses at the right, all figures on a wavy sea, inscribed "VICTORIAE NAVALES" above and "CALPE. EXPVG. ET. GALL. VICT. MDCCIV." (1704) below, 39.5 mm, light contact and spotting, near extremely fine.
