A 1930 Royal Society of Arts Manufacturers and Commerce Award Medal - Frosted silver, engraved in capitals "A.A. GREEN, I.C.S., FOR HIS PAPER ON "THE INDIAN CINEMATOGRAPH INDUSTRY." SESSION 1929-30." on the edge, obverse with the left-facing uncrowned bust of George V, surrounded by the inscription "GEORGE V KING & EMPEROR PATRON", dated "MCMX" (1910) below and engraver marked "BM" (Bertram Mackennal) at the base of the bust, reverse inscribed "ROYAL SOCIETY OF ARTS MANUFACTURES AND COMMERCE" inside an open-ended wreath of laurel leaves formed by two branches with a flowing ribbon tied in a bow at the junction, surrounded by the inscription "FOUNDED 1754. INCORPORATED BY ROYAL CHARTER 1847", 55.7 mm, very light contact, extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, raised medal bed with pull tab, light contact and scuffing on the exterior, case better than very fine. Footnote: The Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) is a London-based, British organization committed to finding practical solutions to social challenges. Founded in 1754 as the Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufacture and Commerce, it was granted a Royal Charter in 1847, and the right to use the term Royal in its name by King Edward VII in 1908. The shorter version, The Royal Society of Arts and the related RSA acronym, are used more frequently than the full name.
