A 1935 Letter from Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler
A letter by Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler. It measures 209x148mm, very fine condition, a bit of fraying on the left side. It is dated to Berlin on November 27, 1935. The letter has no recipient’s name and carries a facsimile of Himmler’s signature. It is marked as the 6th delivery. Because of this, it is probable that the letter was sent out to several recipients, in the form of a “newsletter”. It states that the book “Treason and high treason of the Feldlogen (a form of Freemasonic lodge) during the World War” which accompanies the letter should be read and heavily distributed among the troops and acquaintances. Himmler thinks it would make a good Christmas present. The book was written by Friedrich Hasselbacher. Feldlogen were criticized since the end of the First World War, particularly in the context of the Stab-in-the-back myth, as a means of undermining the government and therefore the German Reich, stemming from an unpatriotic and Jew friendly conduct.
