A 1938 German National Socialist Flyer Corps Coastal Flight Award Medallion; With Original Case of Issue

In bronzed aluminum; horizontal oval shape; obverse illustrates an embossed winged man (Icarus) in flight, a swastika superimposed, and a semicircular banner above with the recessed letters “NSFK”, surrounded by the inscription “Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps Küstenflug 1938); reverse inscribed "Mit unserem Führer im gleichen schritt und tritt fliegen wir für unser ewiges Deutschland" (In equal pace and stride with our Führer we fly for our eternal Germany) with an embossed facsimile of the NSFK leader, Friedrich Christiansen, numbered “624” below; measuring 76 mm x 94 mm; original case of issue; inside lid lined with white fabric, embossed “Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps - Der Korpsführer”, the inside medal bed lined with blue-purple felt; case measuring 119 mm x 99 mm. Case and medallion in near mint condition with light contact marks and light chipping on the award. (C:91)
