A 1940 Deutsches Tropical Belt with Buckle by Matthias Salcher & Sohne

A very fine and complete DAK belt, with buckle and leather tab; the buckle is crafted in die-stamped steel (magnetic); originally painted olive drab finish, but paint has worn off due to age and wear; maker marked “M SS 40” on the reverse of the buckle; with embossed Wehrmacht eagle and motto “Gott Mit Uns/God With Us” on the obverse; measuring 64 mm x 48 mm; the chocolate coloured and wonderfully preserved original leather tab firmly attached to the buckle; maker marked but illegible; the belt crafted out of thick tan webbed cotton; stamped in black ink “90” on the underside of the belt at the right end; reinforced stitching on both ends of the belt; leather tab with a smooth finished brown upper stitched in place on the underside on the right end; the tab with seven rows of two vertical holes each for length adjustment; marked “74” with black ink; magnetic olive drab-coloured receiving clip on the left end; without sliders; measuring a total of 850 mm x 46 mm; overall extremely fine condition.
