A 1940 Pattern Luftwaffe Enlisted Man's Belt with Buckle by H.Aurich
Silvered magnetic die-stamped steel buckle on the right end, unmarked, illustrating the 1940 pattern Luftwaffe eagle insignia inside a wreath of laurel leaves, the buckle measuring 48.5 mm x 64.3 mm. Belt with a smooth finished black upper, smooth finished dark brown underside, silvered magnetic steel receiving clip held firmly in place where the belt wraps around to the reverse on the left end, leather tab stitched in place to the roll bar on the buckle, the tab emboss stamped with the "H. AURICH DRESDEN" maker mark and dated "1940", nine rows of two holes each for length adjustment on the right end, inscribed in black ink "Mtr." with the initial "R." and a surname beginning with an "S", above "4" followed by a regimental designation, the remainder of the surname and regiment having faded with age, the belt measuring 41 mm x 930 mm. Overall silvering wear evident on the buckle and receiving clip, the upper on the belt exhibiting wear and contact, light crazing on the underside and on the leather tab. Better than fine.
