What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Twenty-Two Percent (22%) of the Hammer Price

A Collection of Wartime & Postwar Daimler-Benz Documents

A business document, 3 pages (14.7 x 20.8 cm), to Mr. W. Renschler (regularly misspelled Rentschler), saw mill and parquet flooring factory, Kuppenheim, Oct 25th, 1944. It states that the contract from April 12th of the same year will be extended: In addition to the first and second floor, Mr. Renschler will also rent out the ground floor of his factory to the Daimler-Benz company, so that they can use the entire building. Several machines have to be removed, some will stay, one will be rented and used by Daimler-Benz exclusively. The rent for the ground floor is 100 Reichsmark per month, excluding electricity, which is still paid for by Mr. Renschler, same as all other expenses, like taxes. The letter ends with the standard phrase “Heil H!”. It is signed by Mr. Renschler with two minor additions to the paragraphs. The last page is an answer letter that confirms these minor additions.A short letter to “Schüler” (school pupil) Dieter Kreuziger from Dresden, Dec 5th, 1957. The Daimler-Benz employers thank him for a letter he sent in 3 days earlier and send back several brochures concerning cars, as well as a stick pin. The brochures in question are most likely the following items. An advertisement pamphlet. It presents several motor vehicles, spanning from automobiles to trucks, “Unimog” (all-wheel drive vehicle medium trucks), omnibuses, and communal and firefighter vehicles. It also carries a selection of motors. 10.4 x 21 cm. Another advertisement pamphlet for the Daimler-Benz factory museum called “Reise in die Vergangenheit”, journey to the past. The visitor to the museum can see historic motors and (racing) cars, as well as having a tour through the factory itself. Admittance is free, photography is permitted. 10.4 x 21 cm. 4 advertisement pages. 4 cars are being advertised with rather detailed texts and extensive engineering specifications. The models are: Type 190 SL, Type 300 SL Roadster, Type 180 D, and Type 190. 29.6 x 21 cm.
