A Fine Miniature Order of the Most Holy Annunciation in Gold

This is the miniature collar badge of the order. The miniature medallion was worn by Knights when it was not appropriate to wear the Grand or Small Collars. Finely made in 18K Gold, unmarked, illustrating Mary being visited by an Angel in the centre, framed by an intricate floral and ribboned border in the shape of a triangle, weighing 6.25 grams, measuring 21 mm x 29.5 mm, linked to a 7 mm x 25.3 mm ornate suspension with sliding pinback, extremely fine. Footnote: The Small Collar was meant to be worn by Knights of the Order on all other formal occasions except Great Feast Days, New Years Day, the Feast of the Annunciation, and grand Court functions. On those occasions the Knights were meant to wear the Grand Collar.
