A First Model Reichsluftschutz Dagger by Paul Weyersberg
A Reichsluftschutz Bund (RLB) dagger by Paul Weyersberg; measuring 371 mm with the scabbard on, this dagger features a well preserved unsharpened nickel-plated magnetic steel with a semi-sharp tip that that exhibits beautiful cross training. The blade’s reverse ricasso is maker marked “Paul Weyersberg, Solingen” with the company’s insignia. The blade is diamond shaped and exhibits some light scratches common to extraction and return to the scabbard on both sides of the blade. The thin black leather blade washer remains fully intact and attached to the dagger. The black wooden grip shows some light fading from age, but is overall very well preserved with only a small hairline crack on the reverse side, decorated with a first model RLB insignia sunburst swastika with some chipping of the black enamels. The silvered crossguard exhibits an eagle clutching a swastika medallion.The pommel is silvered with some signs of light wear. The scabbard is painted black magnetic steel with a gilded tip with moderate contact marks, with a complete dagger hanger assembly. Mouth of the scabbard held in place tightly by a period screw. Overall near mint condition, pleasant patina from age.
