A First War Medal Group to H.M.S. Mounsey  - The 1914-15 Star. (176026 F. ROBINSON. P.O..R.N.) Officially impressed. British War and Victory Medals 1914-1918. (GNR F. ROBINSON. R.N.) Officially impressed. All are court mounted, very fine condition. Frederick Robinson: Ranks: Gunner ( T ) Torpedo Specialist, 12th Dec. 1917. War Service: WWI, 1914 - 1918; as a Gunner ( T ) on H.M.S. Mounsey, destroyer class from 4th Feb 1918. This ship served in the Home Fleet out of Harwich. Ships: H.M.S. Mounsey, Yarrow M Class Destroyer, 3 - 4", 1 - 2 pdr. 4 -21" Torpedo Tubes. 4th Feb 1918. H.M.S. Tyrian, Yarrow S Class Destroyer, 3 - 4", 1 - 2 pdr. 4 - 21" Torpedo Tubes. 3rd Dec 1919. He died 10th April 1921 at the Royal naval Hospital Haslar in Gosport, while still in the Royal Navy. In his will he left his estate to Police Inspector George Henry Ward. It is likely he never married. His home address is shown as 20 Nelson Square, Park Road, Portsmouth.This medal group is extremely well documented and is accompanied by a well organized file which includes a documented service history noting Robinsons? promotions and ships on which he served. Also included are 2 photographs of the ships on which Robinson served and encountered throughout his career in the Royal Navy such as HMS Mounsey and HMS Tyrian.
