A First War Royal Flying Corps (RFC) No. 6 Squadron Cribbage Board

A First War Royal Flying Corps (RFC) No. 6 Squadron Cribbage Board - Hexagon-shaped wooden board with twelve ruled sections, each of the sections with ten drilled holes, along with single ones at either end, brass plate affixed to the centre illustrating the Royal Flying Corps insignia and inscribed "No.6 Squadron / France 1915", the board measuring 12 mm x 297 mm with four wooden ball-shaped legs, missing its competition pegs, extremely fine. Footnote: No. 6 Squadron of the Royal Flying Corps was formed at Farnborough on January 31, 1914. In August, most of its aircraft were transferred to other squadrons. Consequently, No. 6 Squadron did not deploy to Belgium until October 1914, soon moving to France as the British Army retreated. Their role was that of a corps squadron throughout the war. In July 1919, No. 6 Squadron was transferred to Iraq.
