A Document in Remembrance of the Passing of Military Traditions to the 3rd Battalion of the Mountain Troop Regiment99
This is a unique document “To commemorate the takeover of the traditions of the glorious former 3rd Jäger Regiment by the 3rd Battalion of the Gebirgsjäger Regiment 99 on the 3rd and 4th July 1937 in Sonthofen in Allgäu”. It is currently framed in a black wooden frame that features a loop for suspension, with a paper backer marked “Carl Berger Glaserei Sonthofen (Bayr. Allgäu) Telefon 181” on a sticker. Within the frame, it measures 304 mm x 226 mm and is in near mint condition without any significant signs of age or wear.
Footnote: The 3rd Jäger Regiment was established in Mai 1915 and was part of the Imperial Army. The 3rd Battalion of the Gebirgsjäger Regiment 99 was established on October 15th, 1935, and first saw action in the Battle of Poland.
