What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Germany, SS. A Freikorps Document Signed by SS Gruppenführer; Recipient of the PLM with Oak Leaves

A Kyffhäuser League certificate; It measures 290x389mm, extremely fine condition with a folding crease and one small rip. The document is a certificate for Volunteer Friedrich Odörfer from Halle. It states that he participated in the fights with the Freikorps (Free Corps) “Oberkommando Möhl”. For this he receives thanks and appreciation for defending the German Reich in times of hardship. It is dated to Berlin on July 1, 1937, and signed in black ink by the League Leader of the German Reich Warrior League (known as Kyffhäuser League), SS-Gruppenführer and retired Colonel Wilhelm Reinhard. Footnote: Wilhelm Reinhard (1869–1955) received the Pour le Merite with Oak Leaves during the First World War for 1200 days of front service and being wounded five times. He lead the Kyffhäuser League until the end of the Second World War when it was disbanded, and re-established it in 1952. He remained its leader until his death. The Free Corps “Oberkommando Möhl”, like other free corps, was a paramilitary militia that fought in the aftermath of the First World War during the German Revolution of 1918/19. They fought against republicans and communist militias. Arnold Ritter von Möhl (1867–1944) was a General of the Infantry in the Reichswehr. He was a recipient of the Pour le Merite.
