A German 3rd Class Cross of Honour of the German Mother with its Packet by Ernst & Müller
A third reich period “Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter” with its original packet of issue; latin cross with concave arms in bronze and blue, white, and black enamels; with sun rays emanating between the arms from the centre applique; on loop for suspension; with its full length period original ribbon (with the ends sewn together for suspension around the neck); the obverse with a circular applique bearing a static black enameled swastika (Hakenkreuz) within a bronze ring inscribed “Der Deutschen Mutter” (The German Mother, with all four arms of the cross edged in white enamels with solid blue panels; the reverse dated with the date of implementation “10 Dezember 1938”, bearing the facsimile of the Führer and Reichs-Chancellor; measuring 42.83 mm x 35.70 mm; weighing 19.2 grams. Accompanied by its packet of issue, with “Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter - Dritte Stufe” printed in black gothic lettering on the obverse and “Ernst & Müller, Pforzheim” printed in black gothic lettering on the reverse; measuring 129 mm x 103 mm; overall extremely fine condition.
