A German Police Enlisted Man's Belt with Buckle by Richard Simm & Sohne
Buckle in die-stamped silvered aluminum on the right end, maker marked "RS&S" (Richard Simm & Sohne, Gablonz) on the reverse, illustrating a rotated swastika in the centre, inscribed "Gott mit uns" (God is with Us) above, with a half wreath of oak leaves and acorns below, pebbled upper, with a short leather tab with a smooth-finished dark brown upper attached to the roll bar, the tab maker stamped "R. SIEPER & SOHNE LUDENSCHEID" and dated "1936", the buckle measuring 48 mm 64 mm. Belt in a thick leather, with a smooth-finished dark brown upper and brown underside, leather tab with a very smooth-finished dark brown upper stitched in place on the underside at the right end, the tab with eleven rows of two holes each for length adjustment, matching silvered aluminum receiving clip on the left end, measuring 44 mm x 1,060 mm. Contact marks and staining evident on the obverse of the buckle, crazing and light wear on the leather items. Very fine.
