A German Silver Grade Infantry Assault Badge by Sohni, Heubach & Co.
A second war German “Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen” silver grade; oval shaped oak leaf wreath in silvered zink, with a national eagle clutching a swastika on the top and a bowtie on the bottom. Diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k with the bayonet attached to the front of the barrel and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle; the reverse plain; with a vertical needle style pinback, a sheet metal hinge, and a round wire catch; maker marked “S. H. u. Co., 41” on the reverse for “Sohni, Heubach & Co.” on the reverse; measuring 61.59 mm x 47.21 mm; weighing 30.3 grams; with some of the original silvering still remaining; in overall very fine condition.
