LAZ. / MOT 551 / 24 / A" on both sides of the triple slotted centre, three drill holes, 50.2 mm x 70 mm); and Medical Officer's "Hauptmann" Shoulder Board (four rows of gray embroidered and fine silvered aluminum wire wrapped around an off-white cord, wrapped in a u-shape, in a chevron formation, two gilt metal pips flanking a gilt metal snake and caduceus insignia, button hole with a gray pebbled button on a post for uniform attachment, blue wool sides and underside with matching strap, 36 mm x 102.5 mm, fabric interruptions and light soiling on the upper). Very fine.
Footnote: the group comes from a family in Germany, but without any supporting documents. This Croatian medical officer served alongside Croatian and German forces (thus the Croatian Volunteers "HRVATSKA" arm shield and the Order of King Zvonimir, 3rd Class with Swords).
