A Kriegsmarine Line Officer's Brocade Dress Belt
Buckle in fire gilt bronze, illustrating a large fouled anchor and surrounded by an open-ended wreath of laurel leaves, on the right end, marked on the reverse, the buckle measuring 58.7 mm x 59 mm. Belt is fabricated with a fine silvered bullion wire with two repeating embroidered rows on the upper, the rows in a black and silvered threading combination, running the full length of the belt, the reverse of the belt fabricated from a fine black wool, the right end with a metal hook, along with eight metal eyelets embedded into the black wool on the reverse, the left end with a fire gilt bronze receiving clip stitched in place between the upper and the black wool backer, two brass loops discreetly hidden under black wool flaps along the bottom edge of the belt on the left side for the placement of danger hangers, two sliders with matching uppers to that of the belt, the slider at the left end secured in place beside the receiving clip, the belt measuring 48 mm x 1,260 mm. Light contact on the buckle and receiving clip, patches of discolouration on the upper, the black wool backer free of mothing. Extremely fine.
