A Latvian Civil Guards Officer's Belt with Buckle c.1930s

Buckle in bronze gilt with a red enamelled finish, a bronze gilt insignia affixed to the buckle, illustrating a downward-pointing sword backed by a cluster of four "E's" and framed by a half wreath composed of two large oak leaves, unmarked, loop on the right side for feeding through of the belt, clip on the reverse for attachment to the receiving loop on the opposite end of the belt, buckle measuring 45.3 mm x 50 mm. Belt is fabricated from maroon embroidery, with three repeating rows of yellow bars and trimmed in two rows of piping flanking a single row of repeating squares in yellow on either side, running the full length of the belt, backer stitched in place and fabricated in a durable dark maroon rayon, belt fed through the receiving loop and measuring 51 mm x 1,260 mm. Red enamels intact on the buckle, belt without interruptions in the fabric and exhibiting light wear, near extremely fine.
