A Lot of Three Romanian Orders and Awards
1) A Romanian Medal for the Eastern Front (Medal for the Crusade against Communism - Medalia Cruciada Impotriva Communismului); 1942; in gilt bronze; loop for suspension; on original ribbon. measuring 32 mm in diameter. 2) An Order of the Crown of Romania, Knight Class with Swords, 1881-1932 issue; Maltese cross in silver and white and red enamel; the obverse with a circular central red enamel medallion with the cipher of King Carol I in gilt, surrounded by a white enamel ring inscribed in gilt letters “Prin Noi Insine” (“By Ourselves”), dated “14 Martie 1881” (“14 March 1881”); the reverse with a circular central red enamel medallion bearing the date “10. Maiu” (10 May) in gilt letters within a white enamel ring with the dates “1866”, “1877”, and “1881”; swivel crown suspension; on original ribbon; measruing 57 mm x 37 mm, enamel in good condition ribbon; moderately soiled. 3) A Romanian Service Cross, Crossed Swords II Class; 1938-1947 issue; in silvered metal; with crossed swords and circular laurel wreath; the obverse with a circular central medallion bearing the Arms of Romania; the reverse inscribed “Serviciu Credincios” (“Loyal Service”); on swivel crown suspension; original ribbon; 57 mm x 36 mm; contact marks. Overall condition ranging from near very fine to very fine.
