A Memorial Cross to the 11th Field Ambulance; June 1917 - Memorial Cross, George V. (910920 Pte. S. HANSON). Naming is officially engraved, hallmark is partially obscured, very fine. Case is hinged, fine condition. Sold with a copy of his Attestation Paper. Footnote: Samuel Hanson was born in Bradford, Yorkshire, England on October 2, 1891. He signed his Attestation Paper on March 22, 1916 at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and listed his trade as Bookkeeper. He was a member of the 11 Field Ambulance CAMC, attached to the 196th Battalion. Pte Hanson was Killed in Action on June 26, 1917 at the age of 25 and is buried in the Villiers Station Cemetery in Pas de Calais, France.
