A Miniature German General Assault Badge; Silver Grade Pin

An Allgemeine Sturmabzeichen stickpin; In frosted silver bronze, measuring 43 mm pin on reverse; unmarked; measuring 16 mm x 12 mm; better than very fine condition. Footnote: The General Assault badge and matching stick pin were designed for presentation to combat engineers, as well as members of the artillery, anti-aircraft and anti-tank units who supported infantry units in combat. However, it was also awarded to medical personnel attending to battlefield casualties. To be awarded the General Assault badge the following criteria must be met: 1) The recipient must not be eligible for the infantry assault badge 2) To have taken part in a minimum of three infantry assaults on three different days 3) To have been wounded while performing in direct or indirect infantry assaults
