A Mint German Cased Fire Brigade Baden-Württemberg 25 Year Service Cross
A fine example of a post war manufacture 25-Year Fire Brigade Service Cross; two piece construction in silvered bronze and white, and red enamels; the obverse with a white enameled cross with a medallion applique in the centre bearing the coat of arms of Baden-Württemberg with a band between the arms, inscribed “Für Verdienste im Feuerschutz”; the reverse plain with a pierced ball suspension and a mint period original ribbon featuring a sewn-on horizontal pinback; measuring 47.57 mm x 42.84 mm; weighing 22.4 grams; with its matching medal ribbon bar. Accompanied by its original case of issue; constructed of cardstock, with a bright red faux leather (leatherette) exterior; the exterior of the lid embossed with “25” within an open ended laurel wreath and “Baden-Württemberg” in gilt lettering; measuring 111 mm x 61 mm; near mint condition.
