A Rare Panzer-Pioneer side cap constructed with a grayish-green (field gray) wool exterior, fold down panels with gently sloping, downward scallops to the front and forward sides, the panels sewn in place to the body of the cap at the front, sewn in place on the peak on the front is an Army eagle in green and gray machine embroidery, illustrating a left-facing spread-winged eagle, its talons gripping a wreathed swastika below, machine embroidered tri-colour cockade on an angled green square patch sewn in place on the fold down flap below the eagle, the cockade framed by a two embroidered cords in a triangular formation, the cords in black and white threading, indicative of a Pioneer Battalion, with magnetic olive green metal eyelets near the front on either side. The interior is lined in olive green cotton, maker marked in black ink "Meyer K.G. Breslau" and size marked "57". The cap measures 90 mm x 280 mm, very clean, without interruptions in the fabric.
