(Herzogtum Sachsen-Weimar) Grand Cross set of insignia for Civil Merit, 2nd version (1815-1918), by the official maker "Th. Müller Hofjuwelier Weimar"; comprising: Grand Cross, in Gold, 50mm (x 83 mm including crown suspension), exquisitely finely detailed, in a guilloche enamel pattern, with green and red enamels; the breast star of the Grand Cross, silver, appliqués in Gold, enameled, four round-head rivets, jeweler's mark on the back "Th. Müller Hofjuwelier Weimar"; dimensions 87mm x 87mm; an exquisite set of insignia, circa 1880 period manufacture, top quality and in mint condition. (Comes with modern made sash ribbon). Seldom awarded set of insignia; the number of members was restricted to twelve in the case of the Grand Crosses, with the exception of any princes born to the house.
