Two-piece construction, bronze gilt and enamels, number stamped "286121" on the edge, un-named, 34.5 mm x 42.5 mm, original ribbon, without brooch pinback, chipping in the enamels to the right of the bust, edge nicks, contact marks, very fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, marked "PURPLE HEART" on the lid, lightly soiled interior, scuffed on the bottom, case better than very fine.
