A Single Decal M35 Wehrmacht Heer (Army) Stahlhelm by Vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke

A single decal Wehrmacht Heer (Army) steel helmet by Vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke. The helmet is crafted out of sheets of molybdenum steel (magnetic) and was painted apple green on the exterior and interior, and officially re-painted dark matte field-grey in colour as an officially re-issued Army helmet. It features separately inserted air vents on either side, with a rolled/crimped rim along the entire helmet, making this a signature M35 type helmet. The interior features an eight-panel butterscotch-brown leather liner, each with five stamped ventilation holes, and an additional hole at the tip for the drawstring. The drawstring is constructed of embroidered white string, and appears original to the helmet. The two-piece chin strap is constructed of thick black leather and is very well preserved, with only minor cracking from age and wear. The steel buckles of the strap are firmly attached to the liner’s frame within the helmet. The underside of the skirt is stamped “E29”, and is maker marked “NS62” below the left chin strap buckle (“NS” for Vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke, and “62” for size). The helmet measures 272 mm x 229 mm. The reissued dark green feldgrau paint on the exterior is chipped in multiple places, revealing the original apple-green paint underneath. The Wehrmacht eagle is approximately 90% intact, with the interior paint mostly present. The frame remains firmly attached to the interior of the helmet via its three attachment clips, with the leather liner depicting wartime wear, as well as moderate traces of molding from storage. Very fine condition.
