Measuring 268x395mm, very fine with some fraying and creasing. With remnants of a wax seal on a cord. This “Bierzeitung” (beer newspaper) was made on occasion of the 5th NCO Candidate Seminar of Paratrooper Panzer Division “Hermann Göring” in Hilversum (Netherlands). It celebrates the end of the seminar. The candidates thank all the training leaders and personnel by making fun of them in a companionable way. The entire speech is written in rhyme. The officer in charge was apparently a man named Oberleutnant (Senior Lieutenant) Schlund. The last page contains fake ads and classifieds, supposedly requested by the training officers.
Footnote:The term “Bierzeitung” comes from the jargon of German university students from the 18th and 19th century and refers to a commemorative publication for a closed group of people, celebrating a special occasion in a humorous or satirical way.
