A WWI 241st Infantry Battalion Sweetheart Pin - Silver gilt and enamels, weighing 3.8 grams, maker marked "ELLIS BROS." on the reverse, 22.8 mm x 23 mm, vertical pinback, intact enamels, very light contact, extremely fine. Footnote: The Battalion was raised in Western Ontario with mobilization headquarters at Windsor under the authority of G.O. 69, July 15, 1916. The Battalion sailed April 29, 1917 under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel W.L.McGregor with a strength of 21 officers and 625 other ranks. In England, the Battalion was absorbed into the 12th Reserve Battalion. It was disbanded on September 15, 1920.
