A WWI British War Medal to the 5th Canadian Mounted Rifles - (919744 PTE. L.R. HARLOW. 5-C.M.R.). Naming is officially impressed. Contact marks, bruised, very fine. Footnote: Lawrence Russ Harlow was born on August 7, 1886 in Summerville, Massachusetts. He was a resident of Montreal, Quebec when he signed his Attestation Paper as a Private (919744) on July 14, 1916 at Montreal, at the age of 29, three and a half weeks shy of his thirtieth birthday, naming his next-of-kin as his mother, M.A. Harlow of Cambridge, Massachusetts, stating that he had previous service with the 5th Canadian Irish Rangers, that he was not married and that his trade was that of Teamster. Harlow survived the war.
