A Second War Medal Pair to South African Military Nurse - Africa Service Medal (317196 H. PEARLMAN); and War Medal 1939-1945 (317196 H. PEARLMAN). Naming is officially impressed. Original ribbons, ASM is reverse mounted, both are inset into a frame, suspended from the upper frame bar, with velvetine covering, biography affixed to the back of the frame, light contact, surface spotting on the ASM, near extremely fine.  Footnote: Hannah Pearlman was born on August 5, 1921 in Krugersdorp, South Africa. She was residing in Yeoville, Johannesburg, when she enlisted with the South Africa Military Nursing Service on February 9, 1942, at the age of 20, stating her religion as Jewish. She was employed as a clerk, was certified in Advance First Aid by the South Africa Red Cross Society and was an active member of the Voluntary Aid Detachment. She served in the Sonderwater Military Hospital until released from service on January 31, 1944, in order to "take up Civilian Nursing Training". Pearlman never served outside the Union of South Africa. She later married Mr. S. Stern.
