What's a max bid?

Cameroon, Republic. An Order of Valour, II Class Grand Officer Star, c.1965

(Ordre de la vaillance). Instituted in 1957. Type II (1961-1971). Four-piece construction, marked "800" (silver) and maker marked "AB & Co" (Arthus Bertrand & Compagnie) on the pin, star insignia in silver gilt with red enamels, the centrepiece bearing a triangle flanked on both sides by a star with a red bead, inscribed with the date "1961" (designating it as the type II version) below and surrounded by the inscription "REPUBLIQUE FEDERALE DU CAMEROUN", the enamelled star mounted to a frosted silver five-pointed star base, each star point with five pairs of faceted emanating rays, with a single pair of faceted emanating rays between each star point, each pair of rays separated by a single emanating ray, measuring 82.2 mm (w) x 79.7 mm (h), vertical pinback flanked by dual stays, chipping evident in the red enamels in the bead on the star point at 9 o'clock, crazing present in the white enamels on the star point at 5 o'clock, the star insignia having been re-positioned and is loose versus the frosted star base and exposes highlight areas on the latter, the centrepiece rotated approximately 10 degrees clockwise from its original position, frosting wear and contact marks on the reverse, better than fine.

 

Footnote: The Order of Valour is an order of knighthood of the Republic of Cameroon and was instituted in 1961. It is awarded for high services to the state, in five grades: Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight, with the Grand Master being the President of Cameroon. There are three date periods: Type I (1957-1960), Type II (1961-1971) and Type III (1972-Date).
