Five-piece construction, in silvered and gilt silver with red, white and blue enamels, marked with Cairo Assay Office mark above the silver fineness mark and date marked on the reverse cartouche, measuring 63.5 mm (w) x 93 mm (h) inclusive of its sacred ibis (bird) suspension, crazing evident in the red enamels on the star point at 4 o'clock, otherwise the enamels are intact, scattered silvering wear, spotting present on the centrepiece, light contact overall, better than very fine.
Footnote: The Order of Independence was instituted in 1955 and was discontinued by 1965. It was awarded for contributions to the establishment of the Republic, in three grades.
