Five-piece construction, in silvered and gilt silver with red, white and blue enamels, hallmarked in Arabic with the Cairo Assay Office mark above the silver fineness mark and date marked on the pin, measuring 71 mm (w) x 71.8 mm (h), horizontal pinback flanked by a single stay on the reverse, intact enamels, scattered silvering wear, light contact overall, near extremely fine.
Footnote: The Order of Independence was instituted in 1955 and was discontinued by 1965. It was awarded for contributions to the establishment of the Republic, in three grades.
