(Nishan al-Nil). Badge: in silver gilt with blue and white enamelled insignia, mounted to a ten-pointed silver gilt star base, maker marked "LATTES" on the reverse, 64 mm (w) x 94 mm (h) inclusive of its crown suspension, without ribbon; and Breast Star: in silver gilt with blue and white enamelled insignia, mounted to a ten-pointed silver gilt star base, maker marked "LATTES", Cairo assay marked/silver standard marked, marked with a Cat (National Mark used between 1916 and 1946) and date marked "A" (1925-1926) on the reverse, 80.2 mm (w) x 78.3 mm (h), vertical pinback flanked by dual prongs. Intact enamels, extremely fine. In their hardshelled case of issue, marked with a crown, a cypher and number marked in Arabic "٢" ("2" for 2nd Class) on the lid, maker marked "Maison Lattes / J. Rosen & Cie / Le Caire" on the inside lid, raised platform with recessed medal beds for both the badge and star, scuffing and edge wear evident on the exterior, case very fine.
