Egypt, Kingdom. An Order of the Nile, III Class Commander Case, by Lattes
(Nishan al-Nil). Instituted in 1915. Wooded-framed on both the lid and base, with a midnight blue fabric exterior, the bottom covered in a midnight blue thatched paper, the lid bearing the Royal crown and cypher, along with the Arabic numeral for "3", the inside of the lid lined in white satin and padded, a white ribbon inscribed in running script with the "Maison Lattes / Le Rosen & Co. / Le Caire" maker's mark in the upper left corner, with a circular highlight offset from the original award in the medal bed that has been lost to time, soiled recessed medal bed in white velvet, latch closure, measuring 105 mm (w) x 150 mm (h) x 40 mm (d), wear and light soiling evident on the fabric exterior, the fabric having worn away over the hinged area, fine.
