In silver gilt, a five point star with clusters of pebbled rays, the obverse medallion featuring a blue enamelled star with blue designs in each quadrant, the center features a red enamelled disc with the Arabic inscription which translates to “Republic”, the reverse also bears an Arabic inscription, the badge is surmounted by an eagle suspension, marked on the reverse with a .900 silver fineness (post 1975), measures 62.75mm (w) x 74.77mm (h – inclusive of eagle suspension), weighs 73.2 grams (including ribbon), worn on original neck ribbon, dark patina, enamel wear to obverse, dark patina, in very fine condition.
Contained in its original case of issue, green leatherette exterior with Arabic inscription and eagle on lid, the interior with a crème coloured silk lid and velvet medal bed with recessed area for the decoration and a small boutonniere (boutonniere included), measures 100mm (w) x 145mm (h) x 34mm (d), hinge and clasp functional, wear to exterior specifically to lid, in near very fine condition.
