Multi-piece construction, insignia in silver gilt with blue and surmounted by a silver crown, the insignia centred upon a large white enamelled silver star with gilt edges, the star mounted to a ten-pointed silver star base, alternating between five small and five large star points, the small points with three pairs of faceted rays, the large points with five pairs of faceted rays, Dutch import marked "V" on the pin, measuring 82 mm (w) x 79 mm (h), vertical pinback flanked by dual stays, flaking and fine chipping evident in the white enamels on two of the star points, better than very fine.
Footnote: The Order of the Nile was instituted in 1915 by Sultan Husayn Kamil and was awarded for services to the nation, in five grades: Grand Cordon, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.
