Six-piece construction, in silvered and gilt bronze with red, white and blue enamels, measuring 64.8 mm (w) x 92.5 mm (h) inclusive of its falcon bearing suspension, intact enamels, contact marks evident on the reverse, light gilt wear, without sash, near extremely fine.
Footnote: The Order of Independence was instituted in 1955 by Abdel Nasser and was only awarded for a period of ten years, as it was discontinued by 1965. It was awarded for special merits rendered in abolishing the monarchy and contributions to the establishment of the Republic, in three grades.
