2. I Class Breast Star (in bronze with maroon, white, black, orange enamels, measuring 59.5 mm (w) x 59 mm (h), missing the second orange and white backer plate, with a horizontal pinback having been added). Near very fine and better than very fine, respectively.
Footnote: The Order of the Republic was instituted in 1969 and awarded to heads of state, in two grades. Most of the medals, orders and decorations attributed to the Qaddafi era were destroyed and burned by the new revolutionary government, therefore, they are near impossible to find.
