Instituted 1939. Of French manufacture, a five-pointed star with pebbled background in bronze gilt, featuring a laurel wreath across the quadrants, reverse centre with Arabic lettering, marked by mark of "LR PARIS", measuring 41.40 mm (w) x 42.75 mm (h - inclusive of integral suspension), light contact, extremely fine.
Footnote: The Star of Merit was instituted by King Muhammad V in 1939, as a reward for civil services. It is awarded in three classes: I Class, II Class and III Class.
