In silver, a rare decoration presenting a twelve point star with yellow enamelled finials at each tip, a silver ray between each quadrant, the obverse medallion features a white enamel center with Arabic inscription with a starburst of alternating white, yellow, green and blue enamelled triangles, the reverse is plain, the badge is surmounted by a delicate rhinoceros suspension, measures 59.6mm (w) x 81.7mm (h- inclusive of rhinoceros suspension), weighs 64.1 grams (including ribbon), worn on a bow ribbon with a pin on the reverse, shows wear and discolouration, badge bears heavy gilt wear but intact enamels, a rare decoration in very fine condition.
Contained in it’s case of issue comprising a pink leatherette case with a white silk interior bearing the makers mark for GARRARD & Co LTD, with a grey velvet recessed medalbed for badge and star, clasp and hinge functional, measures 150mm (w) x 277mm (l) x 33mm (d), marks and wear to the exterior, in very fine condition.
