An 1860's British Second Anglo-Sikh War Photograph - Sepia-toned field photograph mounted to cardboard, obverse illustrating two British soldiers seated upon a cart with a box of ordnance, the cart led by a horse with a Sikh driver, inscribed "H.N. MADON," and "MOOLTAN, PUNJAB." on the right side, reverse studio inscribed "H.N. MADON, Photographer, MOOTAN, PUNBAB." with the remnants of a sticker covering up the remaining inscription, faint handwritten inscriptions in pencil above, 108 mm x 163 mm, soiling evident on the reverse, edge wear, very fine. Footnote: This photograph is a rare depiction of British colonialism in India, emphasizing the guarding of Mooltan following the Second Anglo-Sikh War.
