An NSRL Award Document & Badge to Wilhelm Johannsen; With Badge and Matching Miniature
This is a very fine and complete set of a National Socialist League of the Reich for Physical Exercise/Nationalsozialistischer Reichsbund für Leibesübungen silver grade awards, consisting of an award document presented to Wilhelm Johannsen, as well as a sports badge for war disabled, with matching miniature. The document was issued on August 28, 1943 to Wilhelm Johannsen, born 4.3.1915, living in Hamburg 39 Olsdorferstraße 25. The document is signed by the Stabsartzt and features a matching stamp seal. In addition, once folded open, the document features four sports categories and all important details about Wilhelm’s sports accomplishments, signed and stamped by the Obmann. The reverse features the official award information of the Sports Badge - Silver grade with golden wreath, numbered 3281, awarded on November 13, 1943, with a facsimile and stamp of the Stellvertreter des Reichsportführers. Overall, the document measures 206 mm x 149 mm and is well preserved, with minor knicks and signs of use. The sports badge for war disabled is constructed in bronze; with a gilded wreath and silvered centre; vertical pinback; maker marked “DRGM 35269” (patented, with patent number) and “Wernstein Jena” on reverse; measuring 48 mm x 37 mm; mint condition. The miniature is equally constructed of in bronze; with a gilded wreath and silvered centre; mounted on a 60 mm knurled pin; maker marked “Wernstein Jena” on reverse; measuring 16 mm x 13 mm; mint condition.
