An Old Contemptibles & Canadian Service Medal Bar - 1914 Star, 5th AUG.-22nd NOV. 1914 (10672 Pte T. MILLIGAN. 2/ GORD: HIghrs); British War Medal (10672 PTE. T. MILLIGAN. GORDONS.); Victory Medal (10672 PTE. T. MILLIGAN. GORDONS.); Canadian Volunteer Service Medal (H-54040 - SGT T. MILLIGAN); and War Medal 1939-1945 (H-54040 - SGT T. MILLIGAN). Naming is officially impressed on the WWI Trio and privately engraved on the WWII pair. Court-mounted, light contact, very fine. Accompanied by a copy of his WWI British Medal Awards Index Card.Footnote: Thomas Milligan fought as a Private (10672) with the 2nd Battalion, Gordon Highlanders, part of the initial thrust of British forces into Europe in 1914 during WWI. He entered the French and Flanders theatre on October 7, 1914. After the war, he moved to Canada, settling in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He had his WWI Trio sent to Winnipeg, c/o General Delivery. During WWII, he joined the Canadian Army as a Sergeant (H-54040), earning him the CVSM and WM.
