An Unaltered 2nd Saltzwedel U-Boat Flotilla Cap Tally

This is a well preserved Unterseebootsflottille Saltzwedel Mützenband/cap tally; constructed of golden embroidery on a black rayon backer; measuring 1118 mm x 31 mm in diameter; lightly soiled from use but overall near very fine condition.

Footnote: The snd U-Boat Flotilla (2. Unterseebootsflottille), also known as the Saltzwedel Flotilla, was founded on September 1, 1936. It served under the Kriegsmarine and was originally based in Kiel, but was later moved to Wilhelmshaven. A total of 89 U-Boats served under its command until August 1944, when it was disbanded due to heavy losses.
