What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Twenty-Two Percent (22%) of the Hammer Price

A 1950's Philippino Order of Kalantiao (Order of Kalantiaw)

A 1950's Philippino Order of Kalantiao (Order of Kalantiaw) - Commander: two-piece construction, sterling silver gilt and enamels, 50.8 mm x 76.5 mm inclusive of its wreath suspension, on a full-length tri-colour neck ribbon with clasp closure; and Breast Star: two-piece construction, sterling silver and enamels, marked "STERLING" on the reverse, 85 mm, horizontal pinback. The obverse of the Order illustrates an eight-rayed sun, with smaller rays between each of the eight rays, the centrepiece illustrating a downward pointing sword on which lays the balance of justice, with tablets on either side inscribed with the Roman Numerals I to X, representative of the Biblical Ten Commandments, while the reverse illustrates the coat-of-arms of the Philippines. Light contact and gilt wear, white enamel chipping on the two centrepiece tablets of the Commander Badge, flaw in the white enamelling on one ray of the Breast Star, better than very fine.Footnote: The Order was conferred on retiring Supreme Court justices and visiting international jurists. For retiring justices, this was a memorable “pabaon” for years of dedicated service. The last recipient of the Order of Kalantiaw was Chief Justice Andres Narvasa. In 2003, the order was dropped from the rolls pursuant to Executive Order 236 issued by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, by “establishing the Honors Code of the Philippines, to create an order of precedence of honors conferred and for other purposes.”
