Two-piece construction, silver gilt with red, blue, light blue, yellow, white and black enamels, obverse illustrating the crossed flags of the Wuchang Uprising/Army Flag of the Republic of China, and the Republic of China (first version, 1912-1928) joined by a ribbon, with an inscription in Chinese, reverse illustrating the bust of Wu Pei Fu surrounded by an inscription in Chinese on a circular disk, placed on a six-pointed star with black stars on the points of each of the six points, 38.5 mm x 44 mm, lightly soiled original ribbon with hook and eye, intact enamels, extremely fine. In its wooden-framed hardshelled case of issue, Chinese inscription on the lid, ghosting evident on the recessed medal bed, wear evident in the fabric overlying the hinged area, scuffed exterior, case very fine.
