(Tong Guang). Instituted in 1943. 1912-1949 (Nanking Puppet/Wang Jingwei Government). Wooden-framed structure, with a very dark maroon paper exterior on all six sides, the paper exhibiting a series of textured repeating diamond patterns, the Chinese characters stating the name of the Order and the designation Third Class in gold-coloured ink on the lid, the characters framed by a rectangular-ruled box in white, the inside lid lined in red silk, the medal bed in maroon felt and recessed for the badge, five-piece hinge, clasp closure, measuring 108 mm in width x 170 mm in height x 32.5 mm in depth, scuffing evident on the lid, sides and bottom, with a larger piece missing on the lid, however, the naming of the Order remains intact. Very fine.
Footnote: The Order of United Glory was instituted in 1943 by the Nanking Puppet/Wang Jingwei Government following the Japanese invasion, and was awarded to Japanese officers and to Chinese collaborators who distinguished themselves in activities for the Japanese Government. Following the Japanese surrender in 1945, most of the insignia of this Order was destroyed.
