What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

China, People's Republic. A People's Liberation Army Officer's Uniform, c.1955

Includes two pieces: Tunic and Trousers. Tunic: exterior is fabricated from a moss green cotton-wool blend, the front designed with four pockets, one on each breast with a small brown plastic button just below the opening, facing a green cord loop on the underside of the foldover flap, the other two pockets sewn in place on either side at the waist, which are larger and deeper than the breast pockets, each with a foldover flap and are designed without buttons. The semi-rigid collar has a large single hook and eye closure at the front, ensuring a snug fit at the neck. The front is completed by a vertical row of five large brown plastic buttons on the right side, each of which bears the insignia of the People's Liberation Army, facing an equal number of reinforced button holes on the left side. The inside is lined in a fern green cotton, with a pocket sewn in place on the left breast, with a small brown plastic button just below the opening, facing a green cord loop just inside the opening and designed without a foldover flap. The sleeves are lined in cotton and come with rules in gray and black in a repeating pattern, the tunic measuring 420 mm across the shoulders x 650 mm in length; and matching Trousers: exterior is fabricated from a moss green cotton-wool blend, with a button down fly incorporating four brown plastic buttons on the right side facing an equal number of reinforced button holes on the left side, discreetly hidden under a flap, along with a hook and eye catch at the waist above. It has two pockets, one on each side at the front with a traditional hip-side entry, both of which are deep and lined in white cotton and come with rules in blue and gray in a repeating pattern. The trousers have five large belt loops in a matching moss green cotton-wool blend, placed at equal intervals at the waist. The inside is lined in cotton on the wide band at the waist, along the sides of the fly and in the pockets, the trousers measuring 800 mm around at the waist x 970 mm in length overall. Both the tunic and trousers exhibit some wear and scattered interruptions in the fabrics, along with light soiling from active use. As worn.
